Where the River of Stories Meets the Path to Healing
Coquihalla was born from a simple belief: words and creative rituals have the gentle power to mend hearts, soothe minds, and help us grow; whether we’re 5 or 55.
Nestled in the spirit of British Columbia’s wild and resilient landscapes, Coquihalla draws its name from the Coquihalla River, a place of powerful currents, quiet pools, and breathtaking journeys through mountains. Just as the river carves its way forward with strength and grace, we believe healing is a natural, ongoing process of flow, resilience, and discovery.
Every product is crafted with love, inclusivity, and intention. We partner with diverse illustrators and writers who bring warmth, representation, and emotional intelligence to every page. We choose sustainable materials whenever possible, because caring for ourselves and caring for the planet go hand in hand.
We created Coquihalla because we saw how deeply children and adults need tools for emotional well-being. Big feelings can feel overwhelming at any age. Our children’s books offer gentle stories that help little ones name their emotions, build courage, and practice kindness toward themselves and others. For grown-ups, our self-care books, guided journals, greeting cards, and stationery create sacred pockets of time for reflection, gratitude, and renewal.
Our Story
Founder's Story
My name is Garima Singh, and Coquihalla is the result of my own winding journey through healing.
For years, I struggled with anxiety and the weight of unspoken emotions, both as a child who didn’t have the words for what I was feeling, and later as an adult navigating life’s storms. Books were my quiet refuge; they gave me characters who felt what I felt and showed me that healing was possible. When I grew up, I watched children wrestle with big feelings, worry at bedtime, frustration on tough days, or the need for reassurance that they were enough. I searched for stories that could help them feel seen and safe, but often found them either too heavy or too shallow.
That’s when the idea for Coquihalla took root. I wanted to create the kind of books and tools I wished I’d had growing up, gentle, beautiful, and deeply supportive. I envisioned families reading together, parents and children sharing moments of calm and connection. I dreamed of journals that invite adults to slow down and care for their inner world with the same tenderness we offer our kids.

Drawing inspiration from nature’s ability to heal and renew, I founded Coquihalla to blend storytelling with self-care. What began as a personal mission has grown into a heartfelt collection of books, journals, cards, and stationery designed to support emotional growth at every age.
Today, I’m grateful every day to hear from parents, teachers, and individuals whose hearts feel a little lighter because of a Coquihalla story or ritual. This work continues to heal me too, reminding me that small, consistent acts of kindness (on the page and in life) create lasting change.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
